But nah, I'm that too. I'm just also the impatient bastard who'd rather punch through a problem rather than reason with it. I multitask. And I run a lot of interference.
[This is always true, of course, he's just not used to admitting it so openly. But Luther's a friend, and somehow he thinks the other man will get it, where a lot of people wouldn't, not entirely.]
[ A snort on the other end. Bemused. Luther doesn't know how he identifies so much with traits of both the Masons, and yet, here we are. ]
I'm the patient one, but I get you. I'm pretty sure that me instinctively -- and literally -- punching through problems has been a source of frustration for the others, in the past. When you've got superstrength, every problem looks like a nail.
Do you always run interference for Georgia vs. the world?
Even when you don't have superstrength, sometimes the direct approach just feels good. Doesn't always work, but yeah.
Yeah, pretty much. George is brilliant, you know? Great at what she does. But she can be really intense, and not everyone gets that. And the whole social thing, and the media spotlight bullshit, she doesn't like any of that. It bugs her. I'm not exactly thrilled about it, but I don't mind it. And I'm good at it.
You get it, man. Family's weird as hell, but you learn the survival skills you need and they need. And if you're lucky, some of that family even feels like actual family. My parents suck A LOT, but I've got George, so that feels like a win to me.
[ A careful tread across a detail they've never actually discussed before. What no one had ever actually told Luther, but what he'd picked up when he and George had accidentally mind-melded during the dream storm. ]
This probably isn't the right thing to ask about, but When did you guys figure ou
How did

Yeah, I get it. I just call everyone else my brothers and sisters too, for the most part. It's an easier shorthand, even if our upbringing wasn't really anything like an actual family.

Both of you were adopted, right?

[Oh but there is though. There are words. And some are right and some are wrong and Shaun won't go into any of them.]
So shorthand has to do it.
